Twenty years after the previous special issue on Brassicaceae research, Annals of Botany presents Advances in Crucifer Research in the -Omics Era, edited by Martin Lysak and Marcus Koch.
The collection explores how genomic approaches are reshaping our understanding of diversity, evolution, and adaptation in the mustard family. Contributions cover phylogenomics, systematics, genome evolution, ancient polyploidy, crop wild relatives, and breeding applications. Growing out of discussions at the 2024 International Botanical Congress in Madrid, the SI highlights progress in the field and new opportunities for comparative research across the Brassicaceae.
